Ons Jabeur revealed she cried after losing the Wimbledon final but now is hoping to cope better with the US Open final loss. In the Wimbledon final, Jabeur was up by a set before Elena Rybakina stormed back to win in three sets and become the first Kazakh with a Grand Slam title.

On Saturday, Jabeur lost the US Open final after Iga Swiatek handed her a 6-2 7-6 (5) loss. “Well, I cried. First thing I did. But it was good to let out some emotions,” Jabeur said, per Sportskeeda. “Yeah, didn’t play for a week.

It was huge in Tunisia. I’m going to tell you, I did rest but not really because I had a lot of things to do. Definitely this time I’m going to enjoy a little bit my time, enjoy these two weeks, rest a little bit and prepare for the end of the season.

Just another tournament coming up, also in Tunisia, so it’s going to be great for me to prepare for it.”

Jabeur: I’ll see if I’m going to be able to get some sleep

After losing the US Open final, Jabeur admitted that it was another tough defeat.

“Definitely Wimbledon was tough. This one is going to be tough. We’ll tell you in the next few days if I’m going to be able to sleep little bit. It’s part of tennis. Winning or losing is part of it. And fortunately it is me,” Jabeur added.

At Wimbledon, Jabeur made history when she became the first Arab to reach a Grand Slam final. Unfortunately for Jabeur, she twice fell just short of going a step further and becoming the first Arab to win a Grand Slam. Jabeur has established herself as one of the best players on the WTA Tour and it remains to be seen if she will win a Grand Slam in the near future.
