Tennis star Chris Evert reacts to death of Queen Elizabeth

Chris Evert, former world number one and the winner of 18 Grand Slams, reacted to the death of Queen Elizabeth II after the latter passed away peacefully. “She was devoted to a life of service. She inspired and gave hope to her country.

She was honorable and gracious… RIP Queen Elizabeth II,” wrote Evert.

Here is the Palace’s statement about the death of Queen Elizabeth: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow”. King Charles III, the new King of Great Britain, had a statement as well. “The death of my beloved mother, Her Majesty the Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.

We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished sovereign and a much-loved mother. During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which the Queen was so widely held,” said King Charles III.

Besides Chris Evert, other tennis stars have reacted to the Queen’s death.

Roger Federer’s reaction to Queen Elizabeth’s death

Soon after the passing away of Queen Elizabeth was announced, Wimbledon master Roger Federer wrote a farewell message and sent his condolences to the Royal Family.

Rafael Nadal sent condolences

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth, 22-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal sent his condolences to the Royal Family and the British people.
