DP World Tour chief executive Keith Pelley is starting to play an interesting game. There is still a little left until the start of the BMW PGA Championship, and what will mark the tournament is the return of the LIV Golfers who have won the right to participate in this competition.

Many expect ‘tensions’ and certain conflicts and it will be interesting to observe the reactions of the audience, but also of other players who refused LIV Golf’s invitation. Keith Pelley decided on an interesting move.

Namely, the DP chief executive decided to invite the LIV Golfers before the start of the tournament and talk to them. It looked like they had a lot of questions they wanted to ask Pelley, but he was mystical. They have not received concrete answers.

“KP batted well. He stuck his ground and handled it with aplomb.” – one Tour player said for Daily Telegraph. “We didn’t get in as many questions as we wanted and Keith just kept replying that ‘we’re in the middle of an ongoing legal case, so I can’t give you an answer’.- anonymous LIV Golfer said.

“He also said that the DP World Tour was a pathway to the PGA Tour, but wouldn’t say ‘feeder tour’. At least, his answers are down in writing now”.

Keith Pelley and bans

Pelley and the leaders still made the decision to ban them from performing at the pro-am event.

He also confirmed that they will not be on TV featured groups. “They will not be given any on course competitive disadvantage – i.e. unfavourable tee times – but they will not be required to play in the pro-am on Wednesday and will not be in TV featured groups.

Out of respect for our partners, our broadcasters and your fellow competitors, we would kindly ask you to consider not wearing LIV Golf-branded apparel during your participation at Wentworth”.
