In the 34th week of the year, the golf appointments to follow are really many and involve both professionals and the best amateurs of the Italian Golf Federation.

Golf, schedule

Challenge Tour – Indoor Golf Group Challenge
From 25 to 28 August the Road to Mallorca will remain in Sweden for the second consecutive week.

After the Dormy Open last week, a new appointment in the Challenge Tour Calendar makes its debut: the Indoor Golf Group Challenge. Theater of the event will be the Allerum Golfklubb, in Helsingborg, PAR 71, of 6,300 meters in Helsingborg.

The route celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, having been founded in 1992. In the field, experts recommend keeping an eye on the German Freddy Schott, who continued his excellent period of form by obtaining his first victory in the Challenge Tour a fortnight ago and thus climbing to the top of the Road to Mallorca standings.

This week the 21-year-old has a great opportunity to increase his lead at the top of the table, as his closest challenger Jens Dantorp will not be on the pitch. There are no defending champions to beat or records to break, but it is all yet to be written.

The Azzurri on the field are numerous: Matteo Manassero, Enrico Di Nitto, Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, Gregorio De Leo, Federico Maccario, Lorenzo Scalise, Filippo Bergamaschi, Aron Zemmer, Luca Cianchetti and Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli.

DP World Tour – Omega European Masters
The Omega European Masters is one of the most prestigious golf competitions played in Europe and one of the most popular of the DP World Tour. Born as the Swiss Open in 1923 and has always been a fixture, with different names.

The event will be held at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club, located in the mountains east of Geneva. Its imposing view of the surrounding area attracts visitors both in winter and in summer, to devote themselves to skiing or golf.

This internationally renowned golf competition, which has seen players such as the Spaniards Severiano Ballesteros, José Maria Olazabal and Sergio Garcia, the Scotsman Colin Montgomerie, the South African Ernie Els and the English Lee Westwood win over the years, will be played on the same course for the 75th time.

The defending champion, who will be on the field to defend his title, is 20-year-old Dane Ramsus Hojgaard, who took the trophy last year with a final score of -13. He preceded by a stroke the Austrian Bernd Wiesberger, who scored a double bogey on hole 18 and Henrik Stenson, who with a great final comeback, had completed the podium in 2021.

Among the players competing for the $ 2 million prize pool are Scott Hend, who has been a regular at this tournament and hopes that the family environment will help him get back in shape, and Sean Crocker, winner of the tournament.

first time on the Tour three weeks ago, who achieved a good result last week in the Czech Republic and who, above all, finished fourth in the Omega European Masters 2021. Scotsman Richie Ramsay is also among the favorites, after the fourth win on the DP World Tour a month ago.

There will be eight Italians in the race: Guido Migliozzi, Edoardo Molinari, Nino Bertasio, Francesco Laporta, Renato Paratore, Andrea Pavan, Lorenzo Gagli and the amateur Filippo Celli. The Tour Championship not only marks the conclusion of the 2021-22 PGA Tour season, but also the 16th edition of the FedExCup Playoffs.

From 25 to 28 August at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta will face the 30 qualified champions, who compete for the victory this week, but who already have a place secured in the 2023 editions of the Masters, of the U.S.

Open and the Open Championship. For the fourth consecutive edition of the Tour Championship, the Starting Strokes already establishes an opening ranking. It was designed to reward performance during the BMW Championship and can be thought of as the “bonus strokes” as the result of a completed round.

Last year, Patrick Cantlay opened in 1st place with a result of -10. He scored -11 in four rounds to win by a total of -21 and a win over Jon Rahm. The Spaniard had opened at -6, scoring a final -14. East Lake is the same PAR 70 that the champions have already played.

The length is 6,717 meters and the greens, very fast, are quite small. The classic Atlanta summer weather could soften the turf every day, so the scores could be lower
