Novak Djokovic was left out in a Batman artwork published on US Open’s Instagram account, a decision that confirms the Serbian’s unlikelihood to play in the US Open. “The city is calling,” US Open captioned the post.
Many fans reacted to the artwork by asking where is Nole. Chances are he will miss this year’s edition because he is not vaccinated.

Novak Djokovic’s US Open situation
Over the last two months, Djokovic has received a lot of support, including from American politicians.
Several US senators criticized the rule that prevents Djokovic from entering the country, but the Joe Biden administration did not implement the change that Djokovic desired. Even Daniil Medvedev, who defeated Djokovic in last year’s US Open final, has expressed a desire to see Djokovic at Flushing Meadows this year.
“Yeah, for sure,” Medvedev answered. “I cannot do anything. It is the government who sets the rules, so I do not know if it can actually change or not. If you ask me, if I would be the decision-maker, sure I want Novak to play.
I like it when the tournament [has] the best players in the world”. After winning Wimbledon, Djokovic admitted he was unsure when he would play next. Earlier this year, Djokovic was denied participation at the Australian Open.
