US Kids Venice Open, a great eighth edition

The US Kids Venice Open, an international tournament for children aged 6 to 18, now in its eighth edition and organized by the U.S., was a great success on the Montecchia and Frassanelle golf courses. Kids Golf and the PlayGolf54 group.

It is one of the most anticipated events in the world youth scene where a great spirit of sportsmanship and fun is transmitted and which over the years has launched many players even at the highest competitive levels.

There were 340 young people from 35 different countries who, accompanied by their families, also had the opportunity to get to know Italy and Veneto in particular.

The event obtained from the GEO Foundation, for the fourth consecutive time, the “GEO Tournament” environmental certification for the awareness-raising initiatives conducted in favor of sustainability. The Venice Open is the only Junior tournament in the world to have received this recognition.

Among the most significant actions developed this year, the “Plastic free” operation which included the separate collection and distribution of water bottles to limit the use of plastic bottles, the “Pollinator” operation aimed at safeguarding pollinating insects and highlighted with the production of “Millebuche” honey and the “3 R – Recycle, Reuse, Reduce” project, which made it possible to redevelop and reuse many objects and materials destined for landfill.

The competition days were also characterized by fundraising in favor of the Pediatric Hospital of Padua. The U.S. Kids Venice Open has had the patronage of the Italian Golf Federation, the Coni Veneto, the Veneto Region, as well as the Sports Department of the Municipality of Padua, the Province of Padua and the Municipalities of Galzignano Terme, Rovolon and the City of Selvazzano Dentro.

Among the supporters, EGD – European Golf Design, the design studio that designed the course of the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, which will host the upcoming Italian Open and the 2023 edition of the Ryder Cup. On the field, the Teodoro Soldati Trophy was awarded to Simone Cavaliere, best Italian in the Boys 13-18 category.
