In the lead from the first lap, Freddy Schott dominated the tournament thus winning his first title on the Challenge Tour after a season that saw him often among the protagonists with six top ten obtained before this event (including fifth place in the Italian Challenge Open).

The city is located in the northern part of the Jutland peninsula and overlooks the Kattegat, a strait that separates it from the Swedish city of Gothenburg. A few kilometers away are the Hirsholmene archipelago and the island of Deget.
