Pharaonic works were started from the first days which followed the victory of Scottie Scheffler in Augusta last April. The main change concerns the creation of a new teeing area for par 5 of hole number 13. On the Eureka Earth twitter account, which regularly publishes photos of the Augusta National route seen from the sky, it is possible to follow the developments in progress almost daily.
Whether it’s the mini course reserved for the par 3 competition, the creation of a new area for spectators and of course the very likely follow-up to the new start of 13, the par 5 of the Amen Corner.

On this new photo published this week, we can clearly see the area that has been cleared to accommodate the new starting area set back about 30 meters.
From this position, it will be almost impossible to play directly above “Rae Creek” and the trees that border the small stream running along the left of the fairway to the green. To shorten the hole, you will have to succeed in turning the ball from right to left.
On the other hand, the use of wood 3 to avoid going into the pine forest located opposite the tee risks leaving a much longer shot in the direction of the green.
