Barcelona are about to sign Jules Kounde from La Liga rivals Sevilla in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-repeated journalist has reported on Twitter that Barcelona have a verbal agreement in place with Sevilla over the signing of the France international central defender.

Romano has added that Barcelona and Sevilla will officially sign the contract soon. The Italian journalist has further claimed that Kounde agreed personal terms with Barcelona last weekend, with head coach and club legend Xavi playing a big role.
Kounde has been on the books of Sevilla since 2019 and has established himself as one of the best young centre-backs in Europe. The 23-year-old made 31 starts and one substitute appearance in La Liga last season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process. Kounde made four appearances in the Europa League for Sevilla last season.
