For the first time in his Hall of Fame career, Clayton Kershaw will start the All-Star Game. And it will come at his home ballpark.

It has been yet another sterling campaign for Kershaw, who has pitched to a 2.13 ERA in 71.2 innings with 75 strikeouts. He is 2-0 this season when pitching at Dodger Stadium in five starts.

Opposite him will be Rays’ second-year southpaw Shane McClanahan. One of the AL’s Cy Young contenders, he has a 1.71 ERA in 110.2 innings of work with 147 strikeouts and a 10-3 record.

Kershaw and the National League are looking to snap the league’s seven-game losing streak in the series. The National League hasn’t won the All-Star Game since winning three straight from 2010 to 2012. All-time, the AL leads the NL 46-43-2.
