US senator supports Novak Djokovic’s entry in USA

The desire to fly to the USA for the US Open 2022 is great, as is the clear intention to ensure that what happened in January for the Australian Open does not happen. Novak Djokovic is clear about his presence in Flushing Meadows, where he expects to be there only if he is allowed: “We will not see the same situation seen in Australia because I will not go to America if I do not have permission.

What happened in Australia was a very unfortunate situation. Many people probably think that I forced things by trying to enter Australia without the necessary documents to do so, but this is not true and has been proven in court.

If I get the permit I’ll go to New York, otherwise no, it won’t be the end of the world. I would never go to a country without having the documents in order to enter. And in Australia it was like that too, I had permission, I had a vaccine exemption.

I want to go to New York and go to America. I want to go to every country where I can play, I’m a tennis player, I don’t do politics, I don’t take care of other things because I don’t care. I have my opinions and I support them.

I respect everyone and everything and I expect others to respect my decisions as well. I am still young, I will still play for many years and therefore I still have many possibilities in front of me.”

US senator defends Novak Djokovic

US Senator Rand Paul is not impressed that Novak Djokovic is likely not going to participate in the US Open due to his vaccination status.

Djokovic, 35 year-old, has chosen not to get vaccinated against Covid-19 and current US vaccine laws pose a problem for the Serbian. Recently, the United States eased some measures related to countering the Coronavirus, but individuals are still required to show proof of vaccination upon entry into the country.

Since Djokovic has not been vaccinated and has made it clear that he does not intend to undergo the inoculation, the US Open could continue without one of the best players in the world. “Hooray for heroic stances for medical freedom by Wimbledon champ Novak Djokovic.

Boo for unscientific policy of banning visitors to US that already have natural immunity,” tweeted Paul.
