Former India Under-17 women football team’s assistant coach, Alex Ambrose has denied any wrongdoing after being sacked by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for “sexual misconduct”.

Dr. SY Quraishi who is a member of the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) which is running the AIFF on interim basis, had confirmed last Sunday that they had sacked Ambrose just two days after he was recalled from a camp in Europe citing ‘misconduct’.

The 39-year-old for his part has refuted such allegations, while also sending a legal notice to the AIFF for “tarnishing his reputation by levelling frivolous charges”.

“My client was forced to admit to what he has never done by putting him under fear, duress and coercion. My client was not allowed to offer any explanation nor was my client intimated or informed about the charges/allegations/accusations levelled against by him,” a notice issued by Mumbai-based advocate Madhukar. P. Dalvi on behalf of Ambrose stated.
