In the twenty-sixth week of the year, between the months of June and July, the golf tournaments to follow are always very numerous. Here are the ones we can’t miss.

Alps Tour and LET Access Series – Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Golf Open 2022
From Thursday 30 June to Saturday 2 July At the AA Saint-Omer Golf Club we will follow the co-sanctioned event Alps Tour and LET Access Series.
The field, therefore, will be divided between the players of one Tour (84) and the players of the other (65). In previous years, the mixed event was part of the MasterCard Tour, the European Challenge Tour and the DP World Tour and this year for the first time it lands on the Alps.
The course, PAR 71 of 6,182 meters, was inaugurated in 1990 and is the only golf course in France designed by Dutch golfer Joan Dudok van Heel. Located in the middle of a natural park, with spectacular views over the Aa Valley, the course has rolling terrain and is surrounded by trees, which are a challenge for all types of players.
Since 1997 it has hosted a professional tournament belonging to different Tours every year. In 2000 it became part of the European Challenge Tour. In 2003 it became the site of an official event of the DP World Tour, but was soon removed from the European Tour in 2014 because it was scheduled in the same week as the U.S.
Open. It therefore remained a Challenge Tour event until this year. Most of this season’s winners will compete for the title at the Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Golf Open 2022, including: Italian Gregorio De Leo, Dutchman Koen Kouwenaar and Spanish Manuel Morugan.
French amateur Julien Sale, currently 2nd in the Order of Merit, will also participate in the competition alongside the top 10 players, with the exception of current leader Tom Vaillant and fifth-placed Gary Hurley. To underline the Golf Club’s support for disabled golfers, Adem Wahbi, one of the winners of the Pas de Calais Paragolf Open, hosted in the spring on this course, will participate in the event together with the players of the Alps and the players of the LETAS.
There will be four Italian players on the pitch: Clara Manzalini, Erika De Martini, Martina Flori and amateur Caterina Tatti. Among the 84 players who this week will compete for a prize pool of 40,000 euros, the Italians will be: Gregorio De Leo, Stefano Mazzoli, Manfredi Manica, Riccardo Bregoli, Andrea Saracino, Edoardo Giletta, Ludovico Addabbo, Gianluca Proietti, Alessandro Notaro, Gianmaria Rean Trinchero , the amateur Andrea Ferraris, Federico Zucchetti, Carlo Casalegno, Giacomo Fortini, Davide Buchi, Federico Livio, Takayuki Matsui.
Challenge Tour – Italian Challenge
We will follow the Italian Challenge of the European Challenge Tour from 30 June to 3 July at the National Golf, home to the technical center of the Italian Golf Federation. Located near the city of Rome, Golf Nazionale is recognized as one of the best golf courses in continental Europe and one of the most challenging in Italy, which follows the natural undulations of the hilly terrain.
The deep rough, the undulating greens, the water hazards and the numerous strategically placed bunkers make it a real challenge for all the champions on the pitch. Designed by Jim Fazio, with the help of the Italian architect David Mezzacane, it was inaugurated in 1990.
In 1991 the course hosted the World Cup of Golf, which saw the victory of the Swedish couple Anders Forsbrand and Per-Ulrik Johansson. The Italian Challenge has been played since 2007, in various clubs in the boot. Last year Portuguese Ricardo Gouveia became the first player to win the event twice, reporting a 64-stroke final round at Margara Golf Club, seven years after winning the 2014 edition at Olgiata Golf Club.
He will also be on the pitch, ready to defend his double title. Among the 156 players participating in the tournament, the Italians will be 13: Matteo Manassero, Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, Enrico Di Nitto, Federico Maccario, Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli, Filippo Bergamaschi, Michele Ortolani, Luca Cianchetti, Cristiano Terragni, Andrea Romano, Giulio Castagnara, Lorenzo Scalise , Aron Zemmer.
The Notiziegolf cameras will be on site, ready to tell us all the details of the event. DP World Tour – Horizon Irish Open
From 30 June to 3 July the Horizon Irish Open will be hosted, for the second consecutive year, by the Mount Juliet Estate in Thomastown (Kilkenny) in Ireland.
The camp, born in 1991 from the minds of Jack Nicklaus and Ron Kirby, winds around an old Irish estate with water as a constant danger. It is a 6,640 meter long PAR 72 and, historically, the scores reported by the players have also turned out to be quite low.
Last year Herbert won with a -19 (on a rain-soaked course), while Tiger Woods’ -25 in the 2002 WGC event was one of five best scores in events of this caliber.
