Agnieszka Radwanska comments on upcoming charity match versus Iga Swiatek

Polish tennis legend Agnieszka Radwanska says she is thrilled to be playing Iga Swiatek in a charity match as she reveals she is so happy to be joining a good cause. Swiatek, the new face of Polish tennis, announced her plans to hold “Iga Swiatek and Friends for Ukraine” on July 23 in Krakow.

Besides Swiatek and Radwanska, Elina Svitolina, Sergiy Stakhovsky and Martin Pawelski will also participate. Radwanska, a former world No. 2, will play Swiatek in a one-set match. Swiatek and Radwanska will also clash against each other in a mixed doubles match.

Both matches will be umpired by Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina, who is in the fifth month of her pregnancy. “It will be a special event! It has never been like this before. I am honored that this day I will be able to play for a good cause with such wonderful friends from the court.

The power of sport now takes on even more importance. Now we are together for Ukraine,” Radwanska tweeted.

Swiatek, Radwanska to meet in a charity match

A decade ago, Radwanska was one of th best players on the Tour and the face of Polish tennis.

Now, Swiatek is the top-ranked player in the world and the biggest name in Polish tennis. “For months I have been working with my team on a charity initiative for Ukraine to support those who suffer because of the war.

Together with Agnieszka Radwańska, Elina Svitolina, Sergiy Stakhovsky and Martyn Pawelski, we will meet in Krakow on 23rd July during a special event. We will play a mixed doubles exhibition match. Additionally, Agnieszka and I will play one set of singles.

Both matches will be umpired by Elina Svitolina. There will also be a special guest representing Ukraine – former football player Andriy Shevchenko,” Swiatek wrote on Instagram. Polish tennis fans in Krakow will certainly enjoy watching Swiatek and Radwanska play each other.
