French tennis player Jeremy Chardy, 35, announced his knee surgery went well as he is hoping to be able to come back in 2023 and finish his career on his own terms. Chardy hasn’t played since the US Open following the vaccine complications and a knee injury.
After losing in the US Open first round, Chardy revealed he was dealing with a “series of problems” after taking the vaccine. At the time, Chardy said he was unable to train and play. Chardy finished his 2021 season prematurely but remained hopeful he would be ready for the start of the 2022 season.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and Chardy is set to miss the entire 2022 season.
Chardy hopes to return in 2023

It will be a long and difficult path but I will do everything possible to come back strong in 2023 and be able to finish my career on my terms Thank you to my family, my team, my sponsors, my friends and everyone who always supports me.
All of you will give me the strength to go through the process day by day. See you in 2023 happy, healthy and hopefully on a tennis court because I really miss it,” Chardy announced on Instagram.
At this past French Open, France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga finished his career.
Gilles Simon is playing the final season of his career, while Gael Monfils and Richard Gasquet – both 35 years old – are nearing the end of their careers as well. One great generation of French tennis players is set to go and it would be good if Chardy was able to play one last full season on the ATP Tour before retiring.
