Inter Miami forward Robbie Robinson could be out for the remainder of the 2022 Major League Soccer season after suffering a right distal hamstring tendon rupture.

He is set to undergo surgery this week with the recovery time expected to be between four to five months, projecting a return to the field at the end of October.

While the regular season concludes on October 9, Robinson could be back in time for the playoffs in early November, should Inter Miami qualify.

Robinson has become a crucial part of Phil Neville’s project in 2022, managing one goal and one assist in eight appearances this year. Overall, the player has contributed five goals and two assists across 44 games.

The news comes as a huge blow for the South Florida expansion team as injuries continue to plague the roster. George Acosta and Brek Shea are also out for six to eight weeks, while Ian Fray and Ryan Shawcross both suffered season-ending injuries.
