Premier League transfer news and rumours: 30/5/22

Tottenham Hotspur may have been handed a boost to their hopes of signing Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer.

Antonio Conte is keen to bring in a new centre-back this summer and has now been forced to switch his target to Bremer after missing out on Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni. But that failure could help the north London outfit beat the Italians to the signature of the Torino defender this summer.

It comes as Antonio Conte has been told why Spurs may not secure the signings of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus. And Lucas Moura has opened up on his future at the club amid reports he could seek to leave Spurs this summer.

Here are Mirror Football’s latest Tottenham Hotspur headlines.

Have your say! Who do you think Tottenham Hotspur should target in the transfer market this summer? Let us know what you think in the comments below

Gleison Bremer transfer boost

Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Torino’s Gleison Bremer have been handed a boost.

Spurs are set to go up against Inter Milan for the defender’s signature, but the Italians need to raise funds for any signings by selling players first. With the club being knocked back in their approach for Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni, it appears they may need to secure the sales of other players instead.

And, per football.london, Spurs could take advantage of that fact by beating inter to the signing of Gleison Bremer.

Conte told he may not get Sterling

Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson thinks the club may struggle to secure the signings of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

Both Manchester City forwards have been linked with leaving the Etihad this summer, and reports have suggested Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici could target them as part of their £150m spending spree. But, according to football.london, Robinson says he “struggled to see how Raheem Sterling would fit into Tottenham’s wage structure”.

WHile he also thinks Jesus may be tempted to move to a club with more chance of winning silverware.

Lucas Moura opens up on future

Spurs forward Lucas Moura has opened up on his future with the club after admitting he would one day like to return to his native Brazil and play for Soa Paulo.

That would see Moura return to his first club as a professional footballer, although he has openly admitted the “fee is difficult” for the Brazilian outfit. And while he does want to play for the club again before he retires, Moura has insisted this week that it is “very likely” he will stay at Spurs this summer, as reports football.london.

And he also added that the prospect of playing Champions League football for Spurs has him feeling “very motivated for next season”.
