Spurs target McGinn

John McGinn is on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar as they chase a new midfielder this summer.

The Scotland international would take up a homegrown place in Antonio Conte’s squad, although James Ward-Prowse has also been linked. It could be tricky for Conte and sporting director Fabio Paratici to pull off a deal for McGinn, though, with reports suggesting Villa are not keen to part ways with a star player for a second year in a row following ack Grealish’s £100m move to Manchester City last summer.

And it is also claimed that even if Spurs are successful in bringing in McGinn or Ward-Prowse they will stil explore a move for Christian Eriksen.

Tottenham out of Dybala chase

Tottenham have reportedly turned down the chance to sign Paulo Dybala on a free transfer.

A move to the Premier League has been suggested for the forward when his contract at Juventus expires this month. However, because of his exorbitant wage demands a move to Spurs does not appear to be in the cards.

Reports suggest the Argentine has demanded £280,000-a-week to move to north London, an amount Spurs and fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal and Manchester United are thought to be unwilling to go to. The only way forward for a deal for Dybala now would seem to be for the forward to lower his demands, or stay in Italy with Inter Milan interested.

Bergwijn demands move

Spurs winger Steven Bergwijn has publicly declared “I want to leave Spurs now” in a bold message to Antonio Conte.

The former Ajax ace has been linked with a summer move with reports suggesting he could return to Holland or even sign for Premier League rivals Manchester United, who are now led by his former boss Erik ten Hag. But after struggling for regular minutes under Antonio Conte, the Dutchman has given a bold interview in which he has declared he ‘just needs to go play’.

And it appears he’s left the door open for a dramatic switch to United, with the winger claiming it’s not important to him whether he plays Champions League football next season.
