Kano Pillars, Safety Babes lead Prudent Energy Handball League phase one |

Kano Pillars, Rima Strikers, D: Defenders, Tojemarine Academy, Rima Queens and Safety Babes won their respective matches yesterday at the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
 

In the men’s contests, Kano Pillars defeated Lagos Seasider 40 to 33 to edge closer to winning the first phase of the handball competition in the men’s category.

Other winners were Rima Strikers that defeated Owena Kings 36 to 24, D: Defenders overpowered Police Machines 31 to 24, Tojemarine Academy, who overpowered Benue Buffaloes 31 to 37 and Confluence Stars, who walkover over Kada Stars.

Defending champions, Safety Babes, look set to take the lead into the second phase as they remain on top
in the women’s category.

After beating Plateau Peacocks 32 to 28. Imo Grasshoppers drew 21 to 21 with Bendel Dynamos, Rima Queens beat Seasiders Babes 32 to 18, former champions, Adorable Angels suffered a heavy loss in the hands of Defenders Babes 40 to 33, while Kada Queens walked over Benue Queens.
