Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray is willing to fulfill Emma Raducanu’s wish and play mixed doubles with her at Wimbledon. In a conversation with Elle UK, Raducanu said “just once in my life I’d like to play doubles with Murray at Wimbledon.”

Murray heard the comments Raducanu made and had a response that should make the 19-year-old very happy. “I would love to play with Emma at some stage. I’m sure we will both focus on having good runs in the singles, but yeah – I’d love to do that,” Murray said.

“Last year we talked about it, but we both ended up doing well in the singles”.

Murray says Wimbledon will never be an exhibition

In April, Wimbledon imposed player bans on Russian and Belarusian players. The ATP and WTA responded, sanctioning Wimbledon by removing ranking points from this year’s tournament.

When asked about Wimbledon, some players revealed they may skip it and some suggested this year’s Wimbledon without point resembles an exhibition. Murray furiously reacted to those statements, underlining that Wimbledon will never be an exhibition.

“I follow golf very closely and have no idea how many ranking points the winner of the Masters gets,” Murray wrote on Twitter. “Me and my friends love football and none of us know or care how many ranking points a team gets for winning the World Cup.

But I could tell you exactly who won the World Cup and the Masters. I’d hazard a guess that most people watching on Centre Court at Wimbledon in a few weeks’ time wouldn’t know or care about how many ranking points a player gets for winning a third-round match.

But I guarantee they will remember who wins. Wimbledon will never be an exhibition and will never feel like an exhibition. The end.” Murray is a two-time Wimbledon champion, having won the tournament in 2013 and 2016.
