Renowned tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou seems to have discovered a phenomenon as he took to Facebook to reveal an 11-year-old kid that literally never hits a backhand is training at his academy. When the ball is coming on Teo Davidov’s right side, he puts the racket in his right hand and hits the ball.

When the ball is coming on Davidov’s left side, he just switches hands and hits the shot. When asked who came up with this non-conventional idea, Davidov revealed it was his dad. “Finding angles with the 11-year-old ambidextrous Teo Davidov who never hits a backhand,” Mouratoglou captioned the video.

Mouratoglou officially kicks off his partnership with Simona Halep

On Thursday, Halep played her first WTA match since hiring Mouratoglou. After beating Zhang Shuai 6-2 6-3, Halep admitted she was nervous in her first match since hiring Mouratoglou.

“I’m really happy that I could win this match,” Halep said after the win, per the WTA website. “It means a lot. Being in Madrid, I have great memories. So everything went together today and I played a good match.

“Every time when you start with someone, it’s tough because you are nervous, you don’t know how it’s going to be. But I was pretty confident that everything will be okay because I have a great relation with [Mouratoglou].

“I’m honored, because I always thought that he’s great. Now I have the confirmation that he’s great, and he’s helping me a lot with all the things that I have to improve and I have to do on court.”

Halep, a two-time Grand Slam champion, is hoping to return to winning Grand Slams. That’s why she hired Mouratoglou. Halep revealed she contemplated retirement last season but she is now in a much better place and wants to achieve more big things.
