This Saturday at 2 p.m., Cadiz (17th) received Betis Sevilla (5th) on behalf of the 31st day of La Liga. The locals in yellow started the match in 4-4-2 while the Sevillians, in green and white, were aligned in 4-2-3-1. In a very committed start to the match, it was Betis who came back best in this Andalusian derby, the Verdiblancos even thought of opening the scoring but Sergio Canales’ goal was disallowed for offside (16th). The Gaditans resisted the onslaught of the visitors well and the two teams logically returned to the locker room with a goalless draw (0-0).

At the start of the second half, Cadiz put pressure on the opposing goal and the locals finally found the fault. On a ball poorly cleared by the Sevillian defense, Ivan Alejo volleyed close and gave Claudio Bravo no chance (1-0, 58th). Betis pushed to come back and managed to equalize, after a superb heel from Nabil Fekir, Cristian Tello sent a low shot into the small right net of Cadiz (1-1, 78th). A few moments later, Manuel Pellegrini’s men obtained a penalty for a foul on Borja Iglesias. The Spanish striker did himself justice by deceiving Ledesma (85th, 1-2). The Andalusians held the score and won outside their bases (2-1). Thanks to this success outside, Betis consolidates its 5th place, Cadiz remains 17th before the other matches of the day.
