Orphaned as a coach since the resignation of Dutchman John van ‘t Schip last November, Greece should quickly formalize the arrival of Uruguayan coach Gustavo Poyet. Via a press release, the Greek federation has indeed declared that “negotiations will follow to reach a definitive agreement and finalize the details of the agreement”.
Former coach of the Girondins de Bordeaux, Gustavo Poyet also coached the English teams of Brighton and Sunderland or the Greek formation of AEK Athens. As a player, he notably evolved under the colors of Chelsea, Tottenham and Zaragoza. At 54, the Uruguayan should therefore offer himself a new challenge with this position as coach of the Greek national team.
