On the way to pull off a hell of a blow by bringing Ferran Torres into its workforce, FC Barcelona managed to convince Manchester City after tough negotiations.
FC Barcelona will welcome Ferran Torres in the next few hours or days. This transfer has something to arouse a lot of hope among Catalan supporters because the 21-year-old winger concentrates many qualities: young but already experienced, a profile that fits perfectly with what Xavi wants to set up, Spanish-speaking and especially a talented football player, so much so that he managed to integrate himself into the very competitive Manchester City of Pep Guardiola.
The latter must bitterly regret seeing the former player from Valencia, whom he brought in in the summer of 2020 against 28 M €. The financial operation will still be very good for the English club, sine qua condition not required by the Spanish coach of Cityzens for this transfer to take place. A minimum operation of 55 M €

The Catalans still ended up incorporating bonuses of up to an additional € 10 million in the operation. The overall amount should probably exceed € 60 million, depending on the various bonuses achieved or not. A hell of a lot of money that the current 7th in La Liga is able to afford.
However, it is also an investment in the future because Ferran Torres is still very young and a medium-term gain in the event of a new transfer is more than possible. The Iberian international (22 caps, 12 goals) will on top of that sign a long 5-year contract. Surrounded by his nuggets, it is with this kind of profile that Xavi intends to lead FC Barcelona to a return to the top, he who quickly needs confidence and victories.
