Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, has warned party members against engaging in anti-party activities ahead of the upcoming Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council elections.
Speaking at the FCT PDP Secretariat on Wednesday, Damagum, represented by North-Central Vice Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed, stressed the need for loyalty and discipline among members.
He cautioned that the party would not hesitate to discipline any member found working against the interest of the PDP.

“Any misbehaviour, the party will no longer tolerate it. If anyone feels they are not ready for this task, they should step aside immediately so that we can replace them without delay,” Damagum said.

He further warned members against fraternising with opposition parties or campaigning for rival candidates, stressing that such actions would be treated as acts of betrayal.
“If anyone is caught campaigning or organising with other political parties, it will be treated as anti-party activity and they will be disciplined,” he declared.
Damagum also called on those already involved in anti-party conduct to resign from the party rather than create internal distractions.
“Those who are not loyal to the party should take the honorable path and leave. We have no room for disloyalty.”
He assured all candidates that the PDP leadership would ensure that their votes are protected, adding that unity and commitment were vital as the party prepares for the elections.
