Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has shared details of his harrowing seven-year battle with an undisclosed illness that left him physically weakened and reliant on pap for survival.
Speaking during an interview on Oyinmomo TV, the Yoruba movie star recounted how the illness affected nearly every part of his life, reducing him to praying while seated and forcing him to seek various treatments from different places.
“For a good seven years, I prayed while sitting, and I couldn’t eat anything except pap. It was a terrible period of my life,” Ogogo said.

He noted that although the illness disrupted his career, preventing him from visiting movie locations regularly, he managed to hold on to his properties and never resorted to selling any assets.
“When I started collecting different kinds of treatments and going from place to place, I thanked both men and women. The only thing I couldn’t do then was go to locations often, and I never sold any properties,” he added.
Reflecting on how dire the situation became, the actor admitted he once believed he wouldn’t survive.
“I thought I would die and threw away my Mecca teeth,” he revealed.
Ogogo’s resilience throughout the difficult period stands as a testament to his strength and enduring spirit, earning him even more admiration from fans across the country.
