EFCC Nabs 74 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 74 individuals suspected of engaging in internet-related fraud following a sting operation in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the suspects were apprehended during a raid carried out at Joyous Hotel in Nyanya, a suburb of the nation’s capital.

“Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 74 suspected internet fraudsters,” the statement partly reads.

Oyewale disclosed that several items were recovered during the operation, including 86 mobile phones, one rifle pistol, and three motorcycles.

He added that all 74 suspects will be charged in court once investigations are concluded, though no specific date was provided for their arraignment.
