The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended one Oluwatobiloba Kehinde for reportedly using a locally made pistol to threaten a resident in the Agbena area of Abeokuta.
SP Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, revealed in a statement issued on Sunday that the arrest was made after the victim placed a distress call on Saturday.
The police stated that the incident happened around 6 pm on Friday when the complainant, a male resident, was confronted while returning from a football field.

“The complainant reported that he was returning from a football field when he was confronted by one Oluwatobiloba Kehinde, who threatened to deal with him if he refused to give him money,” the statement read.
Odutola further explained that the situation worsened when some suspected accomplices arrived on a motorcycle and took part in physically attacking the victim.
“He managed to escape the scene and fled to his residence.
“Shockingly, the same suspect, Oluwatobiloba Kehinde, traced the complainant to his family house, armed with a locally made pistol, and continued issuing threats to shoot him,” Odutola said.
Following the report, police operatives promptly arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect.
“The locally made firearm used in the threat was recovered from the suspect,” Odutola added.
She stated that the case has been officially documented and preliminary investigations are underway, assuring the public that updates will be provided as the process unfolds.
