As Upcoming Singer, Learn Skills Because Industry Is Unstable

Nigerian rapper Illbliss has offered a word of advice to upcoming musicians, urging them to secure alternative income sources while building their music careers.

Taking to his X account on Saturday, the hip-hop veteran stressed the importance of having backup plans in an unpredictable industry, encouraging rising talents to pick up additional skills or side hustles.

“Dear Upcoming….Little advice from IllBliss. Learn a skill or find a second and third hustle that will help you keep the lights on,” he wrote.

He emphasised that spreading their financial options would give artistes more stability and room to focus on their growth.

“By diversifying their income streams and being proactive, musicians can better withstand the uncertainties of the industry and focus on developing their craft,” he added.
