“Some People Can’t Curate Message Without ChatGPT” – Tochi Blames AI For Poor JAMB Performance

Reality star Tochi has expressed his belief that the poor performance of Nigerian students in the recent Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam is largely due to an over-dependence on Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.

Following the board’s announcement that over 70% of students who sat for the exam scored below 200, Tochi linked the decline in results to the growing reliance on technology, particularly artificial intelligence.

In his statement, Tochi pointed out that some individuals struggle to even compose basic messages without the aid of AI tools.

“It’s hardly surprising that JAMB reported that over 75% of candidates scored below 200. With the rise of AI tools like ChatGPT, many students have abandoned critical study, reading, and independent research in favor of copying and pasting responses, undermining true learning. Some people can’t even curate a message without ChatGPT,” he wrote on his Instagram page on Monday.

Tochi’s comments have sparked discussions on the impact of AI on education and its role in shaping students’ academic performance.
