Reactions Trail Obi’s Tweet As He Applauds Nigerian Students With Highest UTME And WAEC Results

A few hours ago, reactions began trailing a social media post put up by Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Gregory Obi in which he applauded the feat recorded by some students in the 2023 University Matriculation Exam (UTME), and West African Examination Council (WAEC) respectively.

In a series of tweets posted on his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday, August 16, Obi reeled out the names of six Secondary School Students who performed well above their colleagues in the above-mentioned exams, while congratulating them in the process.

Celebrating the remarkable feat they achieved, the former Anambra Governor also applauded the schools and the teachers who tutored the students into attaining such academic excellence.

He then went on to call for the more investment in Nigeria’s educational sector, adding that the nation can only move forward when there is significant improvement in human capital development.

As expected, Obi’s remarks have drawn a flurry of reactions from a cross-section of Nigerians, with many trooping to the comments section to share their thoughts.

While some persons joined the former Anambra Governor in lauding the achievements of the students, others praised him for laying emphasis on the importance of education to the country’s growth.
