It is a sad time for friends, fans, colleagues and lovers of fast-rising actress, Gbemi Anjola as she is laid to rest.
Nollywood actress, Ariyo Oluwakemisola Apesin popularly known as Kemity has shared videos from the funeral.
In the videos captured online, everyone present at the funeral wore a solemn look as they bade the movie star goodnight.
Kemi Filani reported that the Gbemi Anjola died on Friday, the 24th of March, 2023, after a prolong battle with ovarian cancer.
Gbemi was diagnosed with the ailment in 2021. As a result of this, she traveled to Dubai, UAE for chemotherapy which lasted about 6 months.
After her medical treatment in Dubai, she came back to Nigeria cancer-free. On Friday, the 25th of March, 2023, the actress complained of memory loss and headache.
She was rushed to the hospital, but, unfortunately, Gbemi was pronounced dead.
The tragic news was shared by the late actor’s colleagues, Itele and Zainab Balogun who mourned her on their Instagram pages.
Many others had also take to their respective pages to paid her goodnight.

One of such was, Bakare Zainab who recounted her last moment with Gbemi.
Taking to Instagram to mourn her, Bakare reminisced on how the prayed together and how the deceased promised to stay strong for her and even consoled Bakare to stay strong for her.
Bakare reminded her of the promises they made, their photoshoots, the plans and more.
The movie star questioned what would happen to the huge money their male colleague, Ibrahim Yekini better known as Itele sent her.
“My Own GBEMI is sleeping. She said we will talk later. AKINGBEMISOLA. Remember how we prayed together. Remember How I said you were God’s favorite. You promise to stay strong for me, you even consoled me to stay strong for you. Remember your priorities, our photoshoots. The plans, iya that job we wanna do!
