On Thursday, a report by one of the local media houses revealed that police officers are being accused of treating families of Gen Z youths who died during the June 25 protest unfairly.

According to Amnesty International Kenya (AIK), the police are trying to stop the families from getting the truth about how their loved ones died.

Amnesty International said that police are advising the families not to carry out postmortems on the bodies of the deceased. Instead, the officers are allegedly asking them to bury their children quickly.

This has raised many questions, especially from human rights groups who want justice for the victims.

The report also states that some families have been told they must bury their loved ones within two days. If they delay, they are being warned that they will be breaking the law and could face legal action. According to AIK, this has left many families feeling confused and pressured.

Amnesty International Kenya is now demanding answers from the police. They want the officers to clearly explain why they are rushing the burial of those killed during the protest.

AIK says that postmortems are important so that families can know the real cause of death and get justice for their children.
