Itumbi dismisses claims of fallout with Ruto’s speech writer

Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy, Dennis Itumbi

Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy, Dennis Itumbi, has dismissed reports alleging a fallout between him and other presidential aides.

This followed a report by a local daily claiming that Itumbi, the President’s Speech writer Eric Ng’eno and one Jayesh Sain were not on good terms over a “chaotic communications system”.

According to Itumbi, however, for the over ten years he has worked with Ng’eno, there has never been a fallout or a feud.

The Head of Presidential projects added that their focus as the President’s aides is on delivering the Kenya Kwanza agenda.

“Some stuff just exists in Newspaper headlines. I’ve worked with @EricNgeno for over 10 years — no fallout, no feud. But if sideshows and gossip keep you entertained, muendelee. Our eyes are on the prize: Delivery over distractions,” Itumbi said.

The two started working together under the regime of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta while President William Ruto served as Deputy President.

At the time, Ng’eno still held the same position, while Itumbi was a State House Digital strategist and Diaspora communications director.

They would later be dismissed during Uhuru’s second term in office as he made changes in his communications team.

Itumbi’s position was declared redundant alongside other directors who worked under the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU).
