Meet Roger Lukaku, Romelu Lukaku’s Father Who Played For DR Congo National Team

Born in Kinshasa,DR Congo, Roger Lukaku is a 55 years old retired professional footballer who played for top European clubs such as KV Oostende, KV Mechelen and Germinal Ekeren during his active days between 1986-1999.He is the father to Romelu Lukaku who has been to a number of top European clubs such as Everton, Chelsea, Manchester United and currently Inter Milan as well as Jordan Lukaku who too has been in a number of top European clubs such as Anderlecht, Oostende, Lazio and Antwerp.He is also Uncle to yet another top footballer known as Boli Bolingoli who has been in a series of clubs such as Club Brugge, Rapid Wien, Celtic, Istanbul Basaksehir and Michelen.

At the national team level, Roger was an active member of the DR Congo (then known as Zaire) national team between 1993-1996 with whom he went on to play in the 1994 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as well as in 2 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) finals in 1994 and 1996.Despite the fact that he was a top DR Congo national team player, his two sons Romelu Lukaku and Jordan Lukaku chose Belgium national team over DR Congo and they have quite a good number of appearances with the team.
