Good Morning,
It is on a lovely Thursday morning, and even as the political dust settles, alcohol lovers are having a rough time after a stringent new measure by the regulator.
This was after NACADA set 21 years as the minimum legal age for consuming alcohol, effectively ending the 18 year legal limit.
It announced that no person under the age of 21 will be allowed to access or enter any alcohol-selling outlets, whether accompanied or unaccompanied by an appropriate adult.
The State has also moved to ban sale of alcohol in supermarkets, restaurants, online platforms and residential areas. In a new notice, the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada) has also banned the delivery of liquor to people’s home by vendors, a popular option for urban residents.
This has led to outcry from a section of Kenyans who feel shortchanged, while some Kenyans have come out to applaud NACADA for the move, saying this will bring order in the country and help in the fight against drug abuse.
Do you think this enhancement will succeed? Will this help the country fight alcohol and other drug abuse?
Here is the news making headlines on Opera News App today:

While the sweeping reforms became public about two weeks ago, it was not until yesterday that the public let their feelings known, taking to various social media spaces to condemn some of the measures such as sale of alcohol in supermarkets, restaurants, online platforms and residential areas.
