Confusion as IG Kanja is Ordered to Surrender the Following Key Functions to NPSC in Major Move

Latest reports indicates that an order has been issued amid the confusion surrounding the function of National Police Service Commision and that of Inspector general of police.

As reported by Wednesday’s Standard publication, Members of parliament have reportedly ordered IG Kanja to surrender the payroll and all human resources related functions to the Commision.

This arguably means that the Commision will be one carrying out promotions, recruitment and retiring of police officers.

It should be noted that the duties were tasked to the committee headed by the IG previously.

This came as IG Kanja faced a team of members of parliament who were determined to put the existing confusion to and end.
