Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has admitted that the government is yet to establish the fate of over 40 fishermen and herders who went missing following a cross-border attack in Todonyang, Turkana County, in February 2025.
Speaking during the Jukwaa la Usalama County tour in Lodwar on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, Murkomen revealed that efforts to verify the actual number of missing persons have been complicated by the lack of recoverable bodies and conflicting reports from across the Kenya-Ethiopia border.
