The United Opposition troop has stormed Butula in Busia County, drawing massive crowds and igniting excitement among locals.
Former Deputy President and leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party is expected to headline the highly anticipated rally.
He is flanked by prominent political figures including Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya.
The team was received with overwhelming support as residents lined roads, waving flags and chanting pro-WANTAM slogans.
Placards bearing messages like “WANTAM ni Sisi” and “Change Begins Here” filled the air, capturing the hopeful mood of the crowd.
The leaders, although yet to address the gathering, waved to the excited supporters and toured parts of Butula before converging at the rally venue.
Security was tight as buses and boda bodas streamed in from neighboring constituencies, swelling the already massive crowd.
Vuvuzelas, drums, and whistles created a carnival-like atmosphere, underlining the growing energy around the movement.
Vendors took advantage of the moment, selling branded t-shirts, caps, and food as music blared from sound systems set up for the event.
Residents say they are eager to hear what the leaders will offer as an alternative to the current regime’s economic and governance model.
The WANTAM gospel continues to spread, with today’s event in Busia marking another significant step in the coalition’s national awakening.
