Despite DPP’s decision to approve murder charges against five individuals, latest reports indicates that DIG Lagat is facing a fresh hurdle.
As reported by Friday’s People’s Daily publication, DIG Lagat might lack an escape route over the death of Albert Omondi as 20 Petitioners have moved to court accusing IPOA and DPP of shielding the embattled police boss.
The petition argues that the prosecution of OCS talaam alongside other individuals is a plot to cover-up DIG Lagat’s involvement considering that he is the Prime suspect in the case.
As a result, they want DIG Lagat arrested and prosecuted over the death of Albert Omondi days after he stepped down from his role.
