This incident forced the owner of the Kieni supermarket to remain stranded in the supermarket.

According to a report by Nation, the MP had resorted to locking himself in one of the rooms in what he termed as a move to protect his property.

A source from the supermarket confirmed that the MP was still stranded in his supermarket as of 3 pm.

The legislator arrived at the supermarket immediately after he got reports that police officers who had been stationed at the premises were overwhelmed and chased away by the protesters.

The daring MP locked himself inside the building and boldly told the protesters to get him first before looting.

“I can’t sit at home when my business is in danger. I have to do something about it,” the angry MP said.

Police officers who were stationed in different areas were also chased away after angry demonstrators.
