After declaring that he would be going for Jubilee party secretary general’s seat, a section of Moses Kuria’s followers and Kenyans at large were left unsure of his true political stand and whether he plans to abandon the Ruto administration and join Jubilee party in opposition.
In exclusive interview with Citizen TV, the senior presidential advisor put the matter to rest with a simple and clear and response.
Firstly, Kuria argued that he and others fought really hard to sell president William Ruto’s agenda around the country during the 2022 campaigns. They allegedly endured persecution from then president Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration and thus, it would be unwise for him to abandon a ‘prize’ they fought so hard to win.
Secondly, Kuria argued that he doesn’t work for Ruto but for Kenyans and that the government does not belong to him ( Ruto) but to the people. He said he is in government solely because of ‘Kenyans’, and it would be unwise to leave the ‘people’s’ government simply because he doesn’t support or agree with Ruto.

“I don’t work for Ruto. This government is not Ruto’s, it belong’s to Kenyans. I work for the people of Kenya. I helped win and establish this government, why would I want to leave,” said Moses Kuria.
However, Kuria seemed to take a route similar to that taken by former cabinet secretary Justin Muturi. Throughout the interview, he openly expressed displeasure on the government’s management of human rights, police brutality, extra judicial killings, abductions and enforced disappearances.
