President William Samoei Ruto on Saturday toured Meru county in the vote rich Mt Kenya region where he attended the 10th Annual Dairy Farmers Field Day. The event took place at Meru ASK Show ground.

The head of state was accompanied by his close allies from the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration, including deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki, Meru county governor Hon Isaac Mutuma among other leaders from the government.

While speaking from a roadside rally after attending the event, President William Samoei Ruto hit back at former Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua after the former country’s second in command alleged that he was constructing a road to his private property in Meru county. President William Samoei Ruto dismissed the allegations but insisted that it is not wrong for him to own a property in Meru county.

The head of state further went ahead to state that he is also a citizen of Kenya, and it is not illegal for him to invest in Meru county. He took a swipe at the former Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua saying that he will also come to construct a house and settle in Meru county since he has a great relationship and history with the people of Meru county.

“I am also an individual of Meru, I will also have a residence here, those speaking here what will they do?.I am hearing some individuals spreading propaganda that William Ruto has become an investor in Meru, if I become an investor in Meru is there any problem?” Ruto asked.

He also dismissed the opposition coalition led by former Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua saying it does not have any agenda for Kenyans. Ruto expressed his confidence that he will defeat his rivals in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
