Killer Cop Arrested as Police Releases Statement

Hours after a police officer was captured on camera shooting and brutally injuring a protester, alleged to be a hawker, the Kenya Police has released a statement.

In the statement issued on Tuesday evening, National Police Service revealed that the killer cop has already been arrested and is set to be arraigned in court.

“The National Police Service has noted with great concern an incident involving the shooting of an unarmed civilian by a police officer using an anti-riot shotgun within the CBD. Following the incident, the Inspector General National Police Service ordered for the immediate arrest and arraignment in court of the involved officer. The said police officer has been arrested,” stated the statement

NPS went ahead to set records straight, saying the goons armed with batons who were accompanying police officers during the protests were not part of the officers.

According to NPS, such groups of people are unlawful and cannot be condoned by the Kenya Police.

“NPS has noted that a group of goons armed with crude weapons in the protests within the CBD. The service takes great exception and does not condone such unlawful groupings,” added the service.

Police said the victim was rushed to hospital and is currently receiving treatment contrary to early reports that he had succumbed to injuries
