On Tuesday, June 4, grief engulfed Gatundu as a heartbroken family laid their baby to rest, just weeks before his first birthday.

The child’s death has sparked public outrage, with preliminary claims suggesting it may have been the result of delays in treatment due to an alleged doctors’ strike.

In a harrowing video shared online, mourners wept uncontrollably as the small casket was lowered into the grave.

Among the most gut-wrenching moments was the sight of the baby’s grandfather, who recently went viral after a confrontation with hospital staff carrying his grandson’s body, helping carry the tiny coffin.

The emotional weight of the moment left many onlookers in tears.

The child’s mother, Regina Muiruri, had to be consoled by fellow mourners as grief overwhelmed her during the burial.

Her pain was evident as she bid farewell to her baby, whose life was cut short far too soon.

Thanks to a fundraiser spearheaded by Eric, over KSh 1 million was raised to support the family.

Reflecting on the tragedy, Eric poured out his frustration in an emotional message:

“This has to be one of the heaviest and saddest weeks of my life… Burying innocent Kenyans who should still be alive but are gone because this country is full of politicians with zero leaders. The system failed this family. How many more must we lose?”

Eric also encouraged well-wishers to continue supporting Regina, sharing her number for anyone still willing to contribute.
