Kindiki Out? Kenya Kwanza MPs Suggest Most Suitable Person to Deputize Ruto in 2027 Poll

In what appears to be a well-choreographed strategy to edge out DP Kithure Kindiki from President William Ruto’s inner circle ahead of the 2027 polls, a section of Kenya Kwanza MPs have publicly declared their support for ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga to be named Ruto’s running mate.

The leaders made the surprise pronouncement during the commissioning of the Capiamit last-mile electrification project in Elder Maravin, Bomet County.

Area MP Musa Sirma stirred the political waters by suggesting that nominating Odinga as Deputy President in 2027 would not only strengthen national unity but also help Ruto win over the Nyanza region.

“Rift Valley supported Raila Odinga in 2007. If President Ruto picks him as his deputy this time, we will support him and so will the people of Nyanza,” Sirma said

The remarks, made in front of jubilant locals, hint at a possible political realignment that could reshape the 2027 race.

They also raise questions about the future of Kindiki, who has long been viewed as a potential running mate and influential figure within Kenya Kwanza’s top ranks.
