‘Shock as Beloved Catholic Priest Who Hosted Gachagua and Group A Fortnight Ago, Dies Suddenly

The Catholic community and people of Nyandarua are mourning the unexpected death of Rev. Fr. John Maina Ndengwa.

The sad news was confirmed by Nyandarua Senator Kaba Methu, who shared the heartbreaking update with the public.

Fr. John Maina was a respected Catholic priest at Igwamiti Parish.

He recently made headlines when he hosted former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his team during the parish’s Family Day celebration, which took place just two weeks ago.

Many who saw him that day described him as cheerful, active, and full of life.

Senator Kaba Methu expressed his deep sadness, saying Fr. Maina was not only a great friend but also a man who served God and the people with love and dedication.

“He welcomed us with open arms… now he’s gone,” the senator wrote emotionally.

At this time, the cause of Fr. Maina’s death has not been revealed to the public.

His body is being preserved at the hospital morgue as family members, church leaders, and the community begin burial arrangements. The exact burial date will be announced later.

Fr. Maina’s death comes just four weeks after another sad loss in the Catholic Church.
