Alice Wahome, the Cabinet Secretary for Lands, has spoken out strongly against rumors that she plans to resign.
After some government officials were recently removed from office, many people started to believe she might be next. But Wahome has made it clear that she is not going anywhere.
Speaking to the media, Wahome said the rumors are false and have no truth in them. She called the idea of her leaving “pure daydreaming” and insisted that she has no plans to step down.
Wahome explained that she is still fully committed to her job and the government she helped to build.
“I have no intention of leaving a government I passionately helped to form,” she said.
She added that she is proud to be part of a team that is focused on delivering services to the people of Kenya.
Wahome also explained that the people who were removed from office had not been performing well.
According to her, they were not meeting their goals or working effectively. That, she said, is why they were let go.
In contrast, Wahome said she is doing her job and making sure that her ministry is productive. “I am working and productivity is what keeps one in office,” she added.
This means that as long as she continues to perform and bring results, she believes she will remain in her position.
The Cabinet Secretary’s firm message shows that she is determined to continue with her work and ignore the distractions. She wants Kenyans to focus more on what the government is doing and not on baseless rumors.
