How Senior Official At Office Of President Coordinated With MP Ong’ondo Were’s Killers

A Nairobi court authorized the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to detain four suspects linked to the murder of Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were for 30 days as investigations continue.

Police reports indicate that CCTV footage placed the suspects near the deceased’s vehicle before, during, and after the crime. Additionally, phone records reveal constant communication among the four around the time of the incident.

The investigation intensified with the arrest of a Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA) board member in Nakuru. This arrest followed the discovery of a pistol, believed to be the murder weapon. 

This individual is suspected of orchestrating the murder, allegedly paying the suspected killers. The board member is reported to have close ties with a senior figure in the Office of the President, with whom he was in frequent contact on the day of the MP’s murder.

Law enforcement agencies are now intensifying their efforts to apprehend additional suspects believed to be involved in the crime.

The primary objective is to establish a comprehensive understanding of the crime, including the motive, and to ensure all responsible parties are brought to justice.
