Moi Wasn’t Scared of Young People

Uhuru has lately been vocal about the prevalent political situation in the country, seeming to side with the public’s dissatisfaction with Ruto’s regime.

His latest tirade was relevant to the recent state crackdown on the dissent undertaken by the youth.

Months ago, a host of young Kenyans have were deemed dissidents against the state were abducted, with others being arrested without clear charges.

Speaking at the wedding ceremony of former Baringo senator Gideon Moi’s son, Uhuru recalled how the former president, the late Daniel Moi, handled dissent.

According to Uhuru, Moi, whom he regarded as his political mentor, was never scared of the Kenyan young Turks who had dared to rise against his regime.

“I had a biological father who was a politician who put political genes in my sister, and they are still there, but now they’re kind of lying low. But I had a political father (Moi), and you know, he wasn’t scared of young people, like there are some people around here today. He didn’t panic… You guys have a future. Don’t be cowards,” he said.
